Christie Flanagan ... Graduated from Port Arthur High School in 1923 where he played varsity football for two years. He was considered one of the best players to come out of the Texas high school system in the 1920's. He went on to play for the Notre Dame fighting Irish under coach Knute Rockne and became known as the "Lone Horseman". He was dubbed that nickname by Grantland Rice who was the creater of the famed "Four Horsemen" of Notre Dame. |

Frank Gerrietts --- This picture was taken on the steps of the boys gym of what is presently Woodrow Wilson Jr. Hi. (This building is actually the old "Port Arthur High School" building. In 1938 it was torn down and the "Woodrow Wilson Junior High School" building was built on the same location ... pf)
